Setting the Table {Dedicated to Grandma}

Let me preface this post by noting that Grans is the coolest/hippest 88 year old woman on the planet. She still lives alone, loves to travel and can get down and dance. She makes lots of 50 year women look old and ragged; I hope I get her genes for longevity. Grans loves Nate, but the first thing that came out of her mouth when we told her we were engaged was whether or not we had picked out a china pattern. Bless her heart but we had other things to handle right away!

Every time someone gets engaged and solely registers for Crate & Barrel white, my heart stops. Most will agree that food looks best on a white background, but my thought is that even a meal has to put on its party dress every now and then. An entertainer at heart, it will definitely be on my list.

Just the other day I paroosed the Bloomingdale's website and stumbled upon this line by Villeroy & Boch ... amazingness!

Hello Beautiful! The pattern is Samarkand & Samarkand Mosiac. The combination of pale pink and gold  accents sold me! It's modern and traditional and SO me.

Top it off with this divine hammered golf flatware from Neiman Marcus ...

And while I'm at it ... I'll store everything in this kitchen. Soft tan cabinets, carrara marble and gold hardware ... I could seriously live here!

  1. I'm not even engaged but I cannot wait to pick out my china pattern when the day comes. This option is stunning! And that kitchen is one of my favorites
