Spring Style: Blush Blouses

Ever have those moments when you look at your closet and decide that you don't like 90% of the items you own?! Yesterday, I felt just that and spent some quality time on Shopbop looking at blouses for Spring.

One of my absolute favorite colors is blush {as evident in our wedding} and this season it is absolutely everywhere. Serious. fashion. bliss.

Here are a few of my favorite blush blouses ... some more blushy than others ...

See how good it looks with just about everything?! Hello, the girl above is even pulling it off with red pants ...

All of the above are from Shopbop

With so many options I'm having trouble making decisions {per usual}!

Spiked Flats .... Yes, Please!

Normally when you mention spikes in reference to shoes, you think of a mean pair of heels. But, that is not the case here! Today, I'm loving the Jeffrey Campbell Martini Flats for their ability to achieve feminine edge with their spikes and great colors {apparently sherbet hues are going to be a big deal this Spring}!

My general philosophy for shoes is the higher, the better {hello, my 2011 resolution was to be more glamorous}. But with a foot that is acting up a little bit, I'm going to try to embrace flats a little more ... and these puppies are my point of entry! That's not to say that heels are out the window; I'm just going to try to wear flats a few times a week to give my feet a break!

Are you as head over heels for these flats as I am!?

Gotta Have Girl Time!

Pairs perfectly with shopping bags, dirty martinis and best friends ...
Tucker smocked blouse
$276 - piperlime.gap.com

Hudson jeans
$176 - amrag.com

J Crew suede shoes
$198 - jcrew.com

Python handbag
$895 - intermixonline.com

DANNIJO / Kaylee
$198 - dannijo.com

As usual, I challenged myself to use at least one piece from my last Spring style posts. In this case, it was the Dannijo earrings (and the nail polish if that counts). I selected some great black wedges for a long day of shopping and a sassy clutch that can be paired with numerous outfits down the road! The white jeans are currently on my wish list and the Tucker blouse, well its pink so enough said ...

The bracelet from Stella & Dot is AMAZING. I tried it on Friday night at my friend Lauren's and fell in love (purchase it on her website here)! After viewing all of the fabulous Stella & Dot jewels at her place, I've decided I'm going to 100% become a stylist. I'll be launching in the upcoming weeks and I couldn't be more excited! If you're interested in having a jewelry party, just let me know!

Stella & Dot Stylist?

Lately I've been hearing a lot about jewelry from Stella & Dot. My friend Lauren, a successful Chicago realtor, started selling it on the side at the end of last summer. Out of curiosity, I reached out to her about being a stylist for the brand. In short, her response is that it is really fun, she loves working for the company, adores the jewels and thinks I would love it too.

While I normally would not picture myself hosting trunk shows, I took a step back. I. love. entertaining. I've also considered a part-time job at an art gallery or a flower shop to fulfill a couple aspects of my life - a need to be around pretty things, something totally "uncorporate"and some funds for life's extras {like a fabulous pair of shoes or a great piece of art}. Representing Stella & Dot would capture my entrepreneurial spirit and might just provide the flexibility I need should I chose to go to culinary/design school, open my own business or have to move for Nate's residency.

So that's all of the good, now I just have to get over my ego. This post is the first step in admitting that I might just want to do this ... enough ramblings here are some of my favorite pieces out of their Spring/Fall collection {sorry the pics are so small}!

Just a taste of all the cute things they have this season. Their style is in line with my edgy femme look for Spring/Summer ... rocker cuffs to bright turquoise necklaces and deco pieces. One thing is for certain ... if I do take the plunge, there is sure to be some great giveaways! Do you think this is something I should do?!?

Party Dress

I looked at our Save the Dates the other day and realized that Nate and I have 4 weddings in 7 weeks. Wow, that is a lot of weddings! Naturally, I started to think about my wardrobe for all of them. I found this dress on J. Crew on sale for $100. Do you think I should buy it? I'm loving the big bow!

While I really like the light pink, the grey is the only one left in my size. I figure the grey is probably more versatile anyway. And that the pink might be too light to wear to weddings. Don't want to look like I'm wearing white!

Wild Thing

I've been dying for a pair of leopard pumps, really high ones. Ones that make me feel like a rockstar. While watching the Superbowl on Sunday, I was able to snag these on Ruelala. I'm beyond excited ...
 L.A.M.B "Pounce"

I had finally found the perfect white faux fur vest and opted not to buy it as in my mind Winter is hopefully over sooner rather than later. Happy I didn't buy it as I was able to spend my money on these bad boys, walking away with shoes worth more than $300 for a fraction of what they really cost - touchdown.

Blushing

While I'm not in love with Spring, Chicago Winter has me looking forward to it. And so are all the retailers. After the Holidays, I'm ready for Winter to be over.

Some fabulous shades of blush that have me looking forward to Spring...

Gorgeous Kate Spade Mona Studio Coat

After looking at a couple reception venues yesterday, Regan and I wandered into Kate Spade on Oak Street. And there was the Mona Studio Coat - love at first sight. She's green and striped and can surprisingly be somewhat of a turn neutral. Perfect for a Fall day at the Pumpkin Patch or a chic downtown dinner.

DANNIJO

DANNIJO has been in the press for a while, but ever time I got to their website I think I've died and gone to jewelry heaven. They currently have five different collections - Cult, Americana, Grace, Rock and Boho. All of which are fabulous. Grace and Rock are definitely my favorite. Rock is a cooler version of myself, whereas Grace could probably fit into my current look. Here's a little sample to entice you to visit their website.

Cult

Americana

Grace

Rock

Boho

The cuffs and rings are by far my favorites. And if these beauties weren't so pricey for costume jewelry, I would definitely purchase a bunch of items for my jewelry box.
