A Frightful & Festive Fall Weekend

This weekend Nate and I were invited to my friend Claire's lakehouse in New Buffalo, Michigan. A group of 14 of us met at the house on Saturday night, cracked open some hard cider, enjoyed cheese and crackers and watched the sunset prior to heading to a Haunted "Scream" Park. I must admit, most small children are braver than I am when it comes to haunted houses. However, I managed to survive a haunted house, a pirates' cove, the field of screams and a hayride {which was supposed to be haunted and really was not}!

Being silly ...

After the haunted activities and a late night snack at The Stray Dog, we went back to the house to entertain ourselves with charades games, obstacle courses and loads of Halloween candy. Apparently we are all kids at heart. The weekend concluded with a group brunch and a trip to the Pumpkin Patch on the way back to the city. I love all things Fall and this weekend was AMAZING!

Tom's first Pumpkin Patch experience!

Picked up one of these, a mini orange pumpkin and a carnival squash

The boys working out with the pumpkins as they carried them back to the car!

Again, the weekend was a blast. What's next? Finding a way to carve a pumpkin to look like our Cavalier King Charles Spaniel!
